The Bellini Girls...

Our breeding females must completed and certified all their health tests before been considered for any breeding. The tests included Hips, elbows  and Shoulders x-rays (after 2 years old), completed dentition, congenital cardiac exam, annual eyes examination and all the genetic tests available for standard poodle ( See Paw Print Genetic for more info).

They are also tested for their Genetic Diversity (through the UCDavis  - Veterinay Genetics Laboratory) to identify their genome in order to increase the genetic diversity in their breed as a long goal to better the breed. Their genetic markers are used to evaluate  potential mating (visit BetterBred for more info) to calculate the genetic relatedness of the potentials parents and to simulate off-spring internal relatedness values. We breed to better the standard poodle future!

Since Standard poodles are slow to mature and they are still ''teenager'' at 2 year old, we prefer to wait until they are fully mature and are about 3,5 years old before any breeding. We also prefer to title our girl with their Canadian Championship in Conformation and in performance events like Obedience, Rally and Dock Diving to show off their superior skills for performing practical functions that come naturally to them.

Titled are not only nice to have, they conform the dog sound

temperament, drive, confidence and willingness to learn and

please its owner...Temperament is Genetic...

All their tests are published in the Orthopedic Foundation for
animals website; the link is available from each girl's page.
